CAN-AM OUTLANDER MAX 850 XT-P
The mighty Outlander Max platform is still at the top of the mountain for folks who want great performance and a comfortable ride. The XT-P package is the best for riders who want to bring the kid or a significant other along for the ride but want to be able to exploit their Outlander to the max once they are alone. It comes with all the XT’s package (winch, bumpers, etc..) with the added bonus of a fully adjustable piggyback gas reservoir shock package from Fox.
Think of it like a GT pack for a large sedan or SUV. It transforms the Outlander Max into a beast that handles like a performance SUV in the trails.
The 850 V-Twin is powerful enough, so you never feel like it’s running out of steam. This motor is as reliable as an anvil if properly maintained, that is one of its main qualities. The recent bump in cc’s has only made it better. Best brakes in the business will let you stop faster than most others in this class, no sense going fast if you can’t stop with ease. Great adjustable power steering that makes it such a joy to ride at speed or just puttin’ around. Throttle linkage has been switched to an all-electronic three modes adjustable unit in recent years so you can tailor it to your liking (unique to Can-Am). It also still looks quite good even though the G2 platform is almost 10 years old now. A refresh should be in the works though. (I hope!)
The Outlander Max remains my favorite two up machines to this day. If you can afford the hefty price tag of over $17,000 cad, you are getting a lot of ATV for your money. This category belongs to Can-am and is well deserved.
