POLARIS RZR RS1
RS what? That’s the first words that came out of my mouth when they launched this gem of a UTV back in 2018. I just did not get it until I drove one. Holy fun time Batman! I was sold 10 minutes into my first outing.
Powered by the same 1000 cc Prostar engine from the RZR XP 1000 and drivetrain components from the RZR Turbo all mashed up into in a single seater. The ultimate solo experience where you are sitting smack down the middle of the machine. You can see what the front wheels are doing.
Driving the RS1 is remarkably similar to an open-wheel race car on dirt. What an absolute blast for the senses, I kid you not! It is very fast for an N/A powered machine, extremely nimble on steering, hard to flip and jumps like a champ without the dreaded nosedive syndrome so common to most UTVs.
I kept the best part for last! It’s DIRT CHEAP! Starting at $18,299 cdn, you get one heck of a machine if you do not need passenger accommodations. The RZR XP 1000 is 5000$ more and is slower. Heavier and does not handle as well as the RS1.
Try and find this level of performance and fun factor for under 20 grand! Try as you may, the RS1 remains the best deal on the planet for a super sports UTV.
I just love it to death! Yep! I got one in the shop and after driving it for a year I’m saying: This one is a keeper!
