YAMAHA WOLVERINE RMAX 1000 XTR
Just when I thought 2020 was going to be a very boring year for new UTV launches, Yamaha dropped the RMAX on the unsuspecting public last August and it made quite a splash. Finally! The Wolverine we all wanted is here! AND! It is even better than I expected.
The 1000 cc class parallel twin engine has 108 ponies on tap ALL THE TIME! Yes, ladies and gents, the RMAX can reach speeds above the dreaded 80 kph its predecessors were electronically limited to and do it with authority! 0 to 100 kph is reached faster than the average v8 powered high end pickup truck. HOORAY!

The aggressive but not over the top bodywork matched to extremely bright LED headlights and accents is a thing of beauty. The full doors close with a “thud” instead of a “clang”, It is just so satisfying to feel and hear.
This UTV is tight, no rattles, no squeaks and apart from the deep baritone of the exhaust the running gear is automotive level quiet.
There is a price to pay for such quality and the XTR will take nearly $27,000 to get off the showroom floor to your trailer, but heck, it’s worth every penny!
